Why You Need A Co-Founder Pt. 2
The night is long, the winds are chilly, and the road is lonely.
In the last post I suggested every business should have co-founders. The primary reason is cause there’s simply so much stuff to do, you need all the support you can get.
A more important and sinister side to starting a business that is ALWAYS overlooked is how fucking hard it is.
Get Ready to Lose. A Lot.
You will wake up every day and lose. Even your wins will be short lived and you will lose some more.
Pissy clients. Clogged toilets. Missed shipments of equipment. A DJ that cancels on your grand opening 15 minutes before. Software going down. Someone choosing your shit competitor over you. Bad reviews. Coaches leaving.
The rain of bad stuff will never end.
Some days it will feel so much easier to close up shop and go back to that desk job.
Hell, there was a solid year in PushPress’ history where I seriously considered quitting and focusing on my gym, cause the gym actually made money.
Your Co-Founder Is Accountability.
You need a co-founder to go to war with. Someone who will watch your six and provide mental cover. Someone who will be your accountability partner and make sure that you don’t lose sight of your dreams while you’re taking another haymaker to the face from life.
People who have gym partners are 10x more likely to keep showing up. You need that partner to pick you up and give you a high five more then you even know it.
