CrossFit HQ Pricing and Your Gym
Or: Let your competitors outrage and insta-gossip. Focus on your members.
Yesterday CrossFit HQ announced a price increase in a way that didn’t land with most gym owners.
Ironically enough, since most gym owners have to think about price increases every year, and CrossFit HQ has admitted they have not done one in 11 years, the owners actually have more expertise in the matter.
I tend to agree with the owner.
But I also thought about it for 19 seconds and moved on.
Why? Cause it’s not worth any more time than that for anyone. Yes, even you.
You can’t control CrossFit pricing any more than you can control gas prices. Accept it and move on, or get an electric can and move on.
Either way, move on.
Your clients demand more of you that hour long diatribes on the Internet.
Talking Heads Vie For Your Outrage
This might piss off some of my friends who talk to gym owners…
Anyone who’s fueling this fire with advice more than “deal with it and move on” is just looking to earn clicks and views over your emotion.
There’s no need to consume an hour of “LiVE StrEAmEd ThOuGHtS, OmG!” on the topic. Go watch the Kardashians, it’s about as useful to your business.
My 2c - Don’t waste your energy or time on any of this.
If you don’t find value, commit to deaffiliate and move on.
If you do find value, or believe in the direction, commit to the journey and move on.
MOVE. ON.
PS: I think affiliation is generally worth it unless you’ve built a local brand reputation and can afford to stand alone.
